Tuesdays, November 1 – 29 | Skipping November 15
9 AM – 12 Noon (4 classes)
Portraits are much more interesting when they’re expressive. We’ll create expressive portraits of our choice in charcoal. Many of the great masters used themselves as models and that’s what we’ll do just as an introduction to drawing portraits. We’ll look at a variety of master self portraits. To do our own, we’ll use mirrors to examine our features closely and draw from them. For our large finished portraits, we’ll take several expressive portraits of our choice and draw from our printed photos, our phones and our mirrors. Studying and drawing faces will teach us much about the art of portrait drawing!
