New members are always welcome. Members receive discounts on classes and are invited to participate in monthly exhibits. See below for a complete list of benefits.

Membership Benefits

Membership Levels and Dues: Student Member-(SM) Reduced Rate applies to all students with a current student I.D. $20 *WAA helps to develop future artists via scholarship programs for State-wide High School Seniors.

  • Discounts on open juried show registration fees

Community Member-(CM) Non-artist member for individuals who want to distinguish themselves as supporters of the arts-specifically WAA. $40

  • Invitations to all openings and special events.
  • Monthly newsletter and calendar of events.
  • Opportunity to meet practicing artists in the community.

General Artist Member-(GAM) Non-juried members who enjoy the following benefits. $50
All new artist members must join as a General Artist Member. 

  • The opportunity to become a Juried Artist Member after 6 months.
  • Fee Participation in members show.
  • Discounts on open juried shows.
  • Discounts on classes and workshops.
  • Membership into the photographic arts group is included at no extra cost in this General Membership Level.
  • After 6 months of WAA General Artist Membership in good standing, an artist may apply to be considered as a Juried Artist Member by submitting 5 original and recent works of art for judging by a jury of 3 current juried members. Please keep an eye on this page for the date of the next panel. Please note: General Artist Members should not pay for a JAM until notified by WAA that the jury panel has accepted you. If you are unsure of your status, please contact WAA before renewing. Thanks!

Juried Artist Member-(JAM) Artists who have attained the jury's artist distinction. $60

  • After 6 months of WAA General Artist Membership in good standing, artists may apply to become a Juried Artist Member by submitting 5 original and recent works of art for judging by a jury of 3 current juried members.   • Eligibility for private gallery shows.
  • Opportunity to have a 3 or more person private show with other juried members (there are 3 of these shows per year).
  • Discounts on the entry fee for participation in the Wickford Art Festival
  • Discounts on classes and workshops.
  • The opportunity to feature themselves in the association's member reference book which contains biographies, photo samples of artists' work, articles and contact information.
  • May submit 4 pieces for the gallery browse bins
  • May submit greeting cards for the gallery
  • The opportunity to display and sell artwork at offsite locations.
