Bonnie Jaffe is a native Rhode Islander and has lived in the state her entire life. Bonnie credits her dad, Murray Perlman, for introducing her to the excitement of photography when he gave her her first Brownie camera at age 7.  She later graduated to his Besler Topcon Super D 35mm camera and developed film and printed pictures in their basement darkroom.   In high school, Bonnie began her formal study of photography, which continued at the Rhode Island School of Design from which she graduated in 1978, earning a BFA in Film and Video.  She continued her formal education and received her MEd in Instructional Design from Rhode Island College.  Bonnie then worked as a freelance photographer and then became a Corporate Producer/Writer for the next 15 years.  She then went on to become a Broadcast Advertising Manager, and then formed her own video and marketing company.

Bonnie’s particular passion is street photography, but she loves exploring all facets of the art, including abstract and documentary.   Bonnie is proud to have been recognized with numerous awards for her work, and exhibits regularly at the Attleboro Arts Museum, Providence Art Club, Wickford Art Association, RI Center for Photographic Arts, Warwick Center for the Arts, and many other venues.
