When Sharon was little, crayons and flower gardens were very important to her. The smell, color, shapes and patterns were imprinted on her brain, not knowing it would affect her life forever. The creative process had begun at an early age. Whether it was gardening, photography, quilting, or painting, the passion for creating something out of nothing has continued. Sharon sees the ordinary and then paints it extra- ordinary. The simple made into beautiful. Sharon’s passion for oil painting is rooted in her early exposure to flower gardens and simple, ordinary subjects of life. Sharon loves to paint still-life, animals, sea or landscapes. “It all comes down to painting the beauty within any subject and sharing that experience with anyone who sees beyond the ordinary”. Sharon has studied with Nancy Scelsa for seven years and has taken several workshops with Daniel J. Keys, Kathy Anderson and Tatianna Yanovskaya-Sink of the Putney Painters in VT. Sharon also has studied with local artist, Marjorie Ball.
Sharon is an award-winning artist. She is a member of the South County Art Association, East Greenwich Art Association, Wickford Art Association and Old Lyme Art Association. Sharon also teaches art classes at South County Art Association and East Greenwich Art Association. Sharon can be found at local art festivals too.
