Although a retired Registered Nurse by profession photography has always been my passion. To me, nursing and photography always go together. Both are nurturing and supportive. My nursing skills help to heal the body and support the spirit, while my photography, as it tries to capture the beauty of nature and the joyful wonders of life, supports the soul.
Taking photographs was always a hobby for me, so I decided to expand my knowledge and develop this passion further. I began taking classes, workshops and joining the following organizations:
Wickford Art Association, South County Art Association, Conanicut Island Art Association. Through these organizations I met wonderful and talented people who encouraged and inspired me.
Through volunteer organizations such as: Wickford Art Festival, Plus a member of the Wickford Art Association Board of Directors, Vice-President, and President. Coordinator of the WAA Photo Arts Group. The North Kingstown Arts Council, The Haitian Project and the 350th Anniversary of North Kingstown Committee, it expands my knowledge to seek and support the arts and cultural programs of the community.
I find inspiration and wonder in the beauty of the world I see every day. The outdoors calls me. Lighthouses, covered bridges, waterfalls, the ocean, and the light and shade that surrounds it, animals in their natural habitats. Amazed by their tranquility, simplicity and by the ease with which they render such great beauty.
I look through my viewfinder and see God’s view, and it never fails to draw me in to capture it.
