In this workshop, students will explore the art of painting flowers with realistic detail and dynamic, eye‑catching composition. We’ll focus on creating striking contrast between vivid, delicate blooms and their surrounding environment while thoughtfully considering all supporting elements of the design.
Emphasis will be placed on mastering light, color, shadow, and reflection to bring each piece to life. Students will also be guided through a range of advanced watercolor techniques, including:
- Working with a limited palette
- Color mixing
- Wet‑on‑wet and dry‑on‑dry applications
- Using masking fluid
- Building values and glazing
- Lifting techniques
- Splattering and salt textures
- Negative painting
- Scraping
- Creating realistic water droplets
This class is designed to deepen technical skill while encouraging expressive, confident painting.
