Chris is a self-taught rope artist and the founder of Harborside Rope Works, whose practice is grounded in material exploration, craftsmanship, and a deep connection to New England’s working waterfronts. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and a Master’s degree in Education, a background that strongly informs his methodical, structural approach to art making. Without formal art school training, Chris developed his distinctive visual language through experimentation, problem-solving, and years of hands-on studio practice, transforming discarded commercial fishing and lobster trap rope into contemporary coastal artworks.

Chris’s work has been exhibited at Gallery X in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and is represented in nearly forty curated galleries and boutiques across eighteen states. His art has been featured multiple times in Seaside Retailer Magazine and highlighted on the television program Chronicle: Main Streets and Back Roads, bringing national attention to his sustainable use of maritime materials. Through Harborside Rope Works, Chris continues to expand the boundaries of rope as a fine art medium, merging engineering precision with coastal narrative and environmental stewardship.
