My love for creating art began as a young girl and has continued through the years.I attended RI College in 1970 as an Art Major, and acquired a taste for other mediums there. My career took me in a different direction, and I worked as a mechanical drafter for 34 years, retiring in 2013. I had gravitated towards photography throughout those years, joined the Photographic Society of RI and perfected my skills through mentors, seminars, and workshops.Upon retiring, I embarked on a mission to get back to my roots of creating art, and joined the Wickford Art Association. There, I took a class with Jeanne Tangney, an award winning pastel artist, and under her tutelage became smitten with the medium. I had taken a series of classes with her through the Wickford Art Association, and she was instrumental in my progression of mastering the art of pastels and developing a style of my own. Ihave been painting in pastels since 2014.In 2020, I decided to explore Block Printing & Linocut and took some Classes through WAA with Olivia Watson, a Brown University graduate in the Arts . She inspired me to keep it going as I love the Graphic aspect of this medium. Many of my Pastels & Linocuts are created and inspired from my trove of photographs that I’ve taken over the years. All works are produced, mounted and framed with archival materials. Custom wood frames are made by my husband, Stephen DiNobile.
