Where do you live?
North Kingstown, RI

How long have you been a member?
A little over 18 years. I remember that because my grandson just turned 18 and he was born yet, when I joined.

Do you currently volunteer?
Yes. I have been volunteering at the Wickford Art Festival since I joined the Wickford Art Association. I have also served as a member of the WAA Board of Directors, including roles as Vice President and President. I volunteer with the North Kingstown Arts Council, I am the Coordinator of WAA’s Photo Arts Group, the Haitian Project, and the 350th Anniversary of North Kingstown Committee.

How long have you been a JAM?
I has been about 14-15 years, I am not quite sure on the year!

How would you describe your artwork?
I look at the beauty of nature and try to capture one small area that stands out to me. With people and animals try to capture a moment.

From where do you find your inspiration?
God’s View! Just look at the sunrise, sunset, look at the ocean, the night sky. There so much inspiration around us.

What is the most important thing that you want viewers to take away ?
Before you take the photo, just turn around and see if there might be a better photo.

What is the most important skill you should have as an artist?

A sense of adventure and a solid understanding of your camera and the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed, and ISO).

The exposure triangle in photography refers to the three camera settings that work together to control the final image: aperture (f-stop), shutter speed, and ISO. These settings determine how much light reaches the camera’s sensor and, therefore, the image’s exposure.

What is your favorite thing about the Wickford Art Association/about being a member/Favorite beach, Food, Restaurant?
I love being a member of the Wickford Art Association, it’s a place of learning, sharing, encouraging and supporting each other. It doesn’t matter if you are a photographer, oil painter, watercolor, sculptor, we have the same thing in common-To Create, to provide beauty, bring joy and share with others. But the most important is the friendships that have grown over the 18 years and are still going! That friendship spreads and I became a member of the North Kingstown Art Council. The NKAC supports the WAA and visa versa. My favorite beach is Narragansett Beach. My favorite food is Pizza. MY favortie restaurant is Carriage Inn.

What do you enjoy most about your artistry being artist?
When the photo you are trying to capture turns out just like you want or better yet, better than you expected. Being able to capture the moment.

Do You have any upcoming shows?
April , I will in the JAM Invitational at WAA.
