Drawing I for Teens, A New Way To See with Lisa O’Brien
(Ages 10 and up!)

Mondays: Oct 27, Nov 3, 17, 24, Dec 1, 15  from 4:00-6:00 pm (6 classes)

Learn to “see” in a new way to improve your drawing skills!  This is a beginner class for students that want to learn to draw realistically.  You don’t have to have any previous classes to learn.  We will be using the book “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain” by Betty Edwards as a reference and will use some exercises from the book like contour drawing and upside down drawing.  We will also focus on shading with a still life and how to draw the face realistically.  Come and have some fun learning a new way to draw.

Students will understand that drawing what you see, not what you think you see is important for realistic work.  Students will leave the class with 3 final projects – a shaded still life, a self portrait, and a drawing in perspective and a better understanding of how to draw.

Please bring to class: Sketchbook 8 x10 or larger, pencils (colored pencils if you have them)

Teacher provides: Various handouts related to course $5 materials fee direct to instructor
