Collagraph, The Printed Collage with Patricia Cheyne
Saturdays, November 15, 22, 29 From 11:00 am – 2:00 pm (3 Classes)
Collagraphy is a printmaking technique that does not require a press, where various materials are glued or sealed onto a rigid surface to create a textured printing plate. The term comes from the Greek words “kolla” (glue) and “graph” (drawing). After the plate is created, using materials such as paper, bits of fabric, thread, yarn, dried plants, aluminum foil, and other found objects. The plate is inked and then pressed onto paper or fabric to produce a print. The resulting collagraph print showcases the rich textures and patterns of the materials used, allowing for a wide range of creative possibilities
