Japanese Shibori Textile Dyeing with Ann Bianchi

This Shibori workshop highlights fundamental techniques for the creative, colorful, and historical Japanese art of textile dyeing and design. Enjoy designing with many creative resist methods ( to control the flow of the dye) including:, folding & clamping, resist blocks, stitching, pole wrapping & tying, starbursts, corner dipping, and free styles for Shibori designs. Ann’s demonstrations and many samples of completed work will guide you for each method. Be prepared to be amazed with your results, have fun and witness colors merging as they take on a life of their own. Work with varieties of natural fabrics, and many colorants for beautiful outcomes. No prior experience needed. Create favorite styles multiple times. The material fee covers all supplies including natural fabrics, dyes and colorants, gloves, and all tools necessary for this workshop. Remember to wear clothes to create in, plus an apron. Please bring $15 to the class for the materials fee.
