Plein Air Watercolor
Joan Croce
Tuesdays, July 21 - August 11, Rain date Aug 18
9 AM - 12 Noon (4 classes)
The struggles of painting “plein air” in watercolor are real, but so are the rewards! This class is designed to help us make those paintings that capture a “sense of place” not often found while painting from a photo. Through simplifying our focus, value sketching, and using a limited palette, we can get closer to achieving an atmospheric painting. Each week a different location in and around Wickford will be chosen, a short demo offered, and both individual instruction and a critique will be provided. Some previous experience with watercolors is highly recommended.
This class is being limited to 8 participants so that social distancing can be practiced.
Joan Croce is a signature member of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society and has been teaching art to children and adults for over 25 years.
