About Jane

Jane Robbins is an elected Signature Member of Pastel Society of America, the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, the Arizona Pastel Artists Association, and the Central Mass Patel Society, of which she is president. She is an Elected Artist of Salmagundi Club of New York, American Artists Professional League, and Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, and has twice been honored in Pastel Journal’s Pastel 100 of the “best in pastel” with an Honorable Mention for 2023 and 2^nd Place for 2024 in the Landscapes and Interiors category.  Jane shows her paintings in national and international pastel and all-media exhibitions. Her award-winning work is in private collections in the US, Mexico, UK, and Europe, and is available through galleries and her website.   Jane brings her more than 20 years of university and executive teaching experience, including many years teaching innovation and problem-solving, to every class or workshop she teaches, using multiple, active methods to communicate not just the what, but the how and why, of working in pastel. Her workshops and classes are packed with detailed information and technique-building opportunities in the subject being taught. Students benefit from the active learning approach and from stepping out of their comfort zone, and return again and again to build their skills.
