Wickford Art Association Annual Membership
CURRENT MEMBERSHIP YEAR: July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021

Your membership dues help Wickford Art Association fulfill its mission to educate, encourage and inspire. Over 450 members currently receive the benefits and opportunities of membership including a discount on all classes, reduced registration fees for exhibitions, 70% earnings on any sale of fine art, and the opportunity to exhibit in the Annual Members Exhibit as well as our Small Works- Holiday Sale of Fine Art. Members can also volunteer in many areas of the association from help with our facility and garden to sharing time and artistic spirit with a number of committees that support our creative community.

Remember…all members have a voice! Please attend upcoming ZOOM Membership Roundtables to discuss items effecting membership and our creative community. The 2021 Annual Meeting will be held: Tuesday- September 21…another opportunity to become engaged in WAA business. If lapsed, please renew your membership NOW or join for the first time today!

General Artist Member – $50

New and renewing GAMs

Juried Artist Member – $60

Renewing JAMs, enjoy all the GAM benefits listed above, plus:

  • Direct link to your website from WAA website
  • Display and sell your greeting cards or matted works in browse bins at the gallery year-round
  • Eligible for an invitational show with other Juried Artist Members
  • Eligible to be a featured “JAM-of-the-Month”- through website, newsletter, and social media
  • Eligible to display and sell artwork at offsite gallery location
  • If you have been a dues-paying JAM in 2019-2020, 2018-2019, 2017-2018, and/or 2016-2017, your renewal is $60 regardless of the date of renewal

Honorary Life Member – FREE

For individuals that have been granted an Honorary Life Membership as voted by the Board of Directors and based on their service to WAA and the arts community, Honorary Life Members receive all the benefits of a Juried Artist Member without annual dues.

How to Become a Juried Artist Member

After 6 months of General Artist Membership, artists may apply to become a Juried Artist Member by submitting 5 original and recent works of art for judging by a jury of 3 current juried members. The next panel is planned for Spring 2021.

To apply for the JAM Panel, you will download an application form to be posted soon, then call the gallery at 401-294-6840 to reserve your space. Membership dues must be current for 2020-2021 by the time of application.

Note: General Artist Members should not pay as a JAM until notified by WAA that the jury panel has accepted you. If you are unsure of your status, please contact WAA before renewing.

Photo Arts Group

Membership into the Photographic Arts Group is included at no extra cost for ALL members.

The Photographic Arts Group seeks to help members achieve their potential in film and digital photography. We encourage sharing photographs for discussion and critique to help one another achieve that potential. Guests are occasionally invited to present to the group; technical and other aspects of photography are discussed as well. In good-weather months, the group also travels for plein air photo shoots around the state.

All levels of experience are welcome. The group generally meets the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m.  Currently, most meetings are occurring through Zoom meetings online. For a current listing of activities, see Community>Photo Arts Group.

Becoming a Member Mid-Year

Wickford Art Association always welcomes new members, not matter when you choose to join our community! We ask all NEW members seeking to join after December 31 2020, call 401-294-6840 to make arrangements with our staff.

JOINING after January 1 and your membership has lapsed for repeated years? If you were a GAM, but have not paid dues since the 2015-2016 membership year, you will be considered a NEW member and should renew at $25 for a half-year membership (expiring June 30, 2021).

If you were a JAM, but have not paid dues since the 2015-2016 membership year, you will be considered a NEW member and should renew at $25 for a half-year membership as a GAM; you may reapply as a Juried-Artist-Member after 6 months of membership and the next available JAM Jury Panel.

Levels of Support

Most contributors to WAA are also members.  Contributors are those individuals who wish to distinguish themselves as supporters of the arts and Wickford Art Association. Each your level of giving…from $25 to $1,000 (or more) is appreciated!

  • Contributors may attend all openings and special events
  • Will receive e-mail newsletters, social media announcements and calendar of events
  • Have the opportunity to meet practicing artists in the community
