DESCRIPTION:Painting Floral Abundance with Sarah Hirsch \nWednesdays\, May 20\, June 3\, 10\, 17 and July 8 from 3:00pm – 6:00pm (5 classes) \n**Welcoming Adults and Teens/Intermediate and Advanced** \nThere’s nothing quite like the  show nature puts on in summer\, with flowers blooming n a joyful riot of new colors each week! This painting class is mixed media and mixed level: you are welcome and welcome to use oils. acrylic\, gouache\, or watercolor – or swap around week to week. \nWe’ll bring in fresh flowers from the garden and our favorate photos\, and learn strategies about painting from life and from references.  We will learn color theory\, mixing\, and elements of compostion and apply it all to a bounty of blooms.  \nMaterials List (students bring their supplies) \nSince the class is a mix of different paint media\, each student will be responsible for bringing the supplies they need fro their paint choice. For example\, if you would like to wor with watercolors and inks\, you will need to bring your watercolor paints\, so brushes\, a pad of paper\, ink pens\, a pencil to sketch\, etc.  If you are working with oils or acrylics\, please bring your paints\, palette\, brushes\, and a couple canvases or a pad of canvas paper or  prepared boards. \nThe number of paintings depends entirely on each person’s mood and speed each day; however\, it is recommended to have enough paper/canvases to paint on about 1-2 per class\, in case things get wet and you want to hop over onto a new painting while waiting for one to dry.  So for the five weeks\, a supply of between 5-10 surfaces of different sizes. \n$200 Members | $230 Non-members  \nCLASS REGISTRATION – CURRENT MEMBERS \nCLASS REGISTRATION – NON-MEMBERS

Understanding light is the foundation of our art. Without it there is no contrast\, no color\, no vision. In this class we will continue to explore light and how it emerges through color theory. Join us to investigate how the variety of watercolor techniques\, particularly the use of transparent layers will allow us to create our own light inspired visions. This class is a continuation of “See The Light” but newcomers are more than welcome!’ \nMATERIALS LIST\nMaterials student will need to provide: :  watercolor set(an inexpensive tray is fine but a set of tubes with palette is great\, too)\, variety of brushes\, masking fluid\,  watercolor block or pad(at least 140 lb\, 8x 10\, 12 x 16\, 16 x 20 or a few sheets with a gator foam board for stapling or some other support  or 300 lb paper which doesn’t need mounting\,  hot or cold press or even rough can work\, jar or two for water\, spray bottle\, sponge or two\, #2 pencil or mechanical pencil\, paper towels.  Several printed 8 x 10  photos taken by the student of light on the subjects of choice. DESCRIPTION:Textile Shibori Designs with Ann Bianchi \nSaturday\, March 21 10:00AM–2:00PM (1 class\, 4 hours with a lunch break) \nFabrics from natural cellulose fibers (cottons\, linens and silks) will be our “canvases” as we experiment with historical and cultural resist methods. Working in the styles of Japanese Arashi Shibori and Itajime Shibori\, we’ll add colorants from liquid acrylics to white cloth for fantastic results.  Beautifully prepared cloth will be matted in class and prepared for framing as a piece of art.  In this workshop Ann will provide multiple demonstrations and guidance as students work together on each method while also enjoying some historical cultural information shared during demonstrations. Use different fabric sizes in the workshop and note the various effects.  Be prepared to be amazed with your results\, have fun and witness colors merging onto the textiles as they take on a life of their own!   No prior experience needed. DESCRIPTION:Winter Wonderland: The Enchanted Landscape with Shane Gutierrez \nSundays\, Jan 11 (on-site at WAA)\, Jan 18\, 25\, Feb 1\, 8 (off-site/locations TBA) 2026 from 9:30 am – 12:00 pm (5 classes) \nWinter is a beautiful time of year for the photographer who is willing to get outdoors and brave the cold conditions. The land is reduced to its simplest form\, especially under a blanket of snow. Although I can’t guarantee the ground will be covered with snow\, there is a good chance it will be in January & February. The cold brings a pureness to the country that can be seen in the bare trees\, stark rock formations and the color of the ocean. This allows the photographer to capture clean lines and simple compositions. \nComposition rules will be covered as well as how to dress properly for the cold. Preparing yourself and your equipment along with understanding proper exposure on snowy days are all part of this class. With five weeks to work with\, I allow for one classroom session (1st class) and four “in the field” sessions. The outdoor classes will be weeks 2\, 3\, 4\, & 5. I have locations in mind that leaves it up to you on how much time (short\, medium or long doses) you will want to spend outside the car. Our observation skills will improve as we carefully record what we observe using graphite then colored pencils and finally watercolor. DESCRIPTION:Drawing Studio – A Drawing Club November with Ann Bianchi \nMondays\, November 3\, 10\, 17\, 24 –  10:00AM–12:00PM (4 Classes) \nJoin Ann weekly to meet and draw amongst fellow adult artists.  This class is designed to continue into future sessions and will be offered on a rolling basis. Students will be able to sign up for multiple sessions\, creating a consistent monthly group.\nWork on individual projects or in-class topics with guidance from Ann on drawing techniques and methods. \nSee your drawings improve exceptionally in this class. Develop confidence with hands-on practice and individual tips from Ann. Achieve success with contour lines\, values\, highlights\, shadows\, composition\, and many types of perspective.
