SUMMARY:Digital Art for Teens and Preteens with Procreate (January)
DESCRIPTION:Fridays\, January 5\, 19\, 26\, Feb 2\, 16\, 23- 4:00PM – 5:30PM (6 Classes) \nIn this 6-week session\, Terry will unlock the secrets of creating art on iPads with the app Procreate.  This will be a beginner course for kids who are new to their devices.  We will be imitating cool art by current artists in the video game and film industry.  Each week we will tackle a new illustration and use different brushes and textures.  Students will love their results and gain confidence each week. \nCourse Objectives: To educate students as to all the wonderful brushes and textures in Procreate and increase their level of comfort and skill in creating great images digitally. \nMaterials: Students will need to have a current iPad\, a stylus (The Apple Pencil is recommended\, but other workable styluses are available) and the app Procreate. \n$140 Members | $170 Non-Members \nCLASS REGISTRATION – CURRENT MEMBERS \nCLASS REGISTRATION – NON-MEMBERS

SUMMARY:Let’s See the Light\, Drawing with Betsey MacDonald
DESCRIPTION:Mondays\, January 8\, 15\, 22\, and 29th- 9:00AM – 12:00PM (4 Classes) \nDegas said that drawing is the artist’s most direct and spontaneous expression. It’s challenging\, mindful and the foundation of visual art. In this class we will use contour line to help us better “see” our subjects and then focus on the use value to describe how light and shadows help us to get to the core of a subject. We’ll observe and draw using pencil and charcoal\, a variety of materials like paper\, wood\, porcelain\, metal\, glass and natural objects\, all of which reflect light differently. Our emphasis will be on representation from direct observation\, learning how to use mark making and shading to create form\, texture and a sense of space.
