Sarah Hirsch
Saturdays, May 28 & June 4
1 to 3 PM (2 classes)
In this new take, you are both the artist and the model, in turns. In a fully clothed, comfortable, short pose, each person will take the center while everyone else draws. And then we’ll switch. Everyone’s body is beautiful, and art is a practice in seeing with care. There will be guided instruction on both posing and techniques for gestural drawing from life, and we’ll center group discussion and feedback as we go along. We’ll talk about visual and physical elements of art about the human body: line, shape, anatomy, how it felt to hold a certain gesture, foreshortening, the same pose from different perspectives, and more. High School students are welcome!
