After being shown a tutorial on the comic book creative process involving Shapes, Objects, Figures, and Layout, students begin with drawing basic shapes, and progress to objects and figures followed by layout. We will talk about writing, drawing and the creative process. Children will be able to come up with and draw their own superheroes and short comic stories with guidance and encouragement. The goal of the class is to have fun, be creative and learn to draw. Brett, the artist behind Power Kid Comics, will also show examples of his own work from all stages – pencils, inks, color, and how it all ties in. This class would be ideal for grades 3-5.
