Photo Guild of the WAA

Wickford Art Association members and the general public interested in the Photo Guild can find our meetings at the Wickford Art Association Gallery every 1^st and 3^rd Monday of each month from 7 - 9 p.m., unless otherwise indicated below. Dues are $2.00 for each meeting. The next meeting is set for:

7 p.m.

Due to the Labor Day holiday the meeting dates for September will be the 8th and the 22nd.

On Display

Laura Johnston is showing at the Updike's Newtown Coffee Roasting Company (The UN) at 7726 Post Road North Kingstown (formerly Majik Coffee).

Congratulations to Eric Wertheimer! His work is published in the South County Independent newspaper under the heading Only in South County.

Congratulations to Cindy Wilson who is showing her work at Arturo Joe’s ,104 Pt Judith Road, Narragansett; Donovan Gallery, 3895 Main Road, Tiverton Four Corners, RI; Mystic Scrimshanders, 14 Main St, Wickford; and 5 Main Gallery in Wickford.

John Pitocco recently received 1st place in the Providence Journal Photo Contest with the photograph "Providence Power Plant". John also graduated from Rhode Island School of Design, Continuing Education with a Certificate in Digital Photography.

Remember that September 17th and 18th are registration days for the Second Annual Photo Guild Show at the Wickford Art Association gallery.

First a big thank you to all of the Photo Guild members who volunteered at the Wickford Art Festival. Your help was very important and appreciated.

Thanks to everyone who placed a piece in the Cranston Library Show. We continue to get positive comments from the library staff about the quality of the show.

Thanks to Jason & Cathy Buchanan at Crestar Mfg. LLC for their outstanding work and help to the Photo Guild members. Both Crestar and Gordon’s Ink are located at 51 Liberty St., East Greenwich.

Thanks to Phil Hammer of B&H Framing of East Greenwich for the work he is doing for the Photo Guild membership.

Members: Please keep us informed on your shows and awards. That is the only way we can be expected to keep the web page updated.

Wrap or bag your work for the browse bins at the WAA gallery. Work must comply with WAA browse bin rules for the gallery.
Note, clear bags may be used instead of shrink-wrap if you wish.

Classes

Bill Brennan is giving a PhotoShop class for beginners, starting Thursday, September 4. Howard Rubenstein is offering a class in How to take a better photograph and a Black & White Darkroom course. For details go to the Classes page.

Anyone interested in any future class should let us know or contact the WAA gallery.

Welcome to the Guild Photo Gallery.

Photographers are chosen to be in the gallery by the members of the group. If you are interested in any of the works you see here you can get additional information by sending an e-mail. If you want to join the Photo Guild, to enjoy company and get constructive critiques on any of your photos, and have your photographs considered for the web site, come join us at our meeting.
