Janice Causey a painter and photographer, will show her most recent work this year of her new residence and experience of living on the ocean and being with Mother Nature in the dunes. The show is called plunge.  In essence, we are plunging into the unknown through our art.  She has been invited to show at the gallery AS220 gallery in Providence on June 6th, opening from 4-7pm.  The show will run from June 6th - June 26th, 2010.  Any questions on directions or info please call 401-783-7475.  Also showing with her is Marylou Butler, a photographer and writer. 

Bonnie Jaffe had two photographs (attached), "Flamingo Study" and "ReCycled Art", accepted in the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts 99th Annual Exhibition at the Mystic Arts Center, May 28--July 17, 2010.  "Flamingo Study" recently received the Simonds Photographic Award.

Lori Jeremiah is teaching pastel classes at the South County Art Association this summer.

Norah Pfeiffer had a piece, "Morn", accepted into the Imagine Red exhibit at the Portsmouth Arts Guild and also has "Flow" in the April Fools exhibit at the Spring Bull Gallery.  Previously, she has had a piece entitled "Prism" accepted into the Portsmouth Arts Guild show Imagine Yellow. She also received an honorable mention in SCAA's Workshops 2010 for a mixed-media piece "The Eyes Have It."

Brad J. Sherman had 2 of his paintings in South County Arts Association All Media Open Juried I exhibit which ran from May 20 - June 5.  They were Leaving Jackson and Looking Back both done in acrylics.

Hiroko Shikashio’s 10x10 photo is in the exhibition of “Off the Wall” at Mystic Art Center till July 24, 2009. She has coordinating “Japan Watercolor Federation/Watercolor USA Honor Society” exchange exhibit in Springfield Museum in Springfield, Missouri currently on exhibit and the National Art Center in Tokyo, in April 2010. Ralph Williams
will be exhibiting his work at the North Kingstown Library for the month of June.


WAA Newsletter Submission Guidelines

The deadline for each quarterly issue is the 10th of the prior month.
The Newsletter Editor is Marianne Guarnieri.
Remember to include as many details as you can, such as: 
  • your name, as you'd like it listed,

  • show/exhibit name, location, and dates,

  • title and medium of work accepted, and 

  • awards received

Dates are particularly helpful: to be sure your information is published in a timely manner, that it will be posted while still relevant, and that it is not removed early.

  • Images are not accepted for this page.  If you'd like to get an example of your work posted on this site, members are encouraged to work to achieve artist-level of membership and sign up for a Three Artist Show at our gallery.  Alternatively, participation in Open Juried & Member Shows and in the WAA Photo Group will increase the chance that your work might get posted (on the relevant page).  

  • Links are accepted for this page--including sites and galleries where member work is currently showing as well as links to recent WAA shows.  Longer term members' links are posted on Members' Web Sites or Members' Galleries as appropriate.
