Lee Alexander’s “Viole de Pensiero” won best of show in East Greenwich. Carole Berren exhibited her artwork at Le Sore Bun Annual Art Exhibition at Cranston Public Library Art Gallery, from April 5th to April 30th. Lorraine Bromley exhibited a few of her paintings from her artist residency in Costa Rica at the Bank RI on Pitman Street in Providence for the month of April and then in May it traveled to the Bank RI, Turks Head Building in downtown Providence. Janice Causey is having an art show for three weeks at the coffee house, Java Madness, 134 Salt Pond Road in Wakefield, RI. www.javamadness.com . The show runs from June 27th until July 18th. She also plans on doing private and semi-private art lessons this summer at her home. If interested visit her website at www.janicecausey.com Ann Daum’s oil paining “A View From South Water Street” will be displayed in Senator Sheldon Whitehouse’s Washington office for one year. Theresa Girard recently had 7 pieces juried into the Art League of Bonita Springs small works show. Her work will be represented this spring by the Osborn Lizio Contemporary Gallery at Bayfront in Naples, Florida. Tanya Trinkaus Glass: Tanya Trinkaus Glass had 3 works (1 pastel, 2 mixed media) accepted into “Art Focus” in April, a juried open show open to all Florida artists and 2 oil paintings juried into the Naples Art Association Members’ Gallery at the Von Liebig Art Center in Naples, Florida. In March she exhibited 2 pastels in the Southwest Florida Pastel Society’s Annual Show at the Art League of Bonita Springs, Florida, winning 4th place for “Full Harvest;” and “Loving All the Rain at Corkscrew,” a pastel, was juried into the Naples Art Association Members’ Gallery In February, the Naples Art Association Members’ Gallery in Naples, Florida juried in Tanya’s oil and a mixed media. The mixed media, “Life Group 91808” won an award called “Meditative Power.” In November '08. Ms. Glass had a mixed media accepted into the “Founder’s Trophy” juried show at the Von Liebig Art Center in Naples, Florida, winning 2nd place in Mixed Media. She was also one of 3 panelists in a program on “Abstraction” at the Southwest Florida Pastel Society’s February meeting. Susan Graefe had 22 photographs titled “Africa to Alaska “ on exhibit for the month of May at the Warwick Public Library on Sandy Lane in Warwick . Dorcas Greene won Second Place for her acrylic/graphite portrait “Livo’s Dream” at the Riverside County (California) Fair and National Date Festival - Fine Arts Division. It was also exhibited at the Wickford Art Association, “A-L” Members Show Part 1. Linda Hennessey is exhibiting her photography at Java Madness, May 9 - June 3. Donna Kenny Kirwan of Rumford had a watercolor painting entitled “Uprising” accepted into the American Watercolor Society’s 142nd International Exhibition. Her painting was on display at the Salmagundi Club gallery at 47 Fifth Avenue in New York City from March 31 through April 26. Additionally, Donna won Best in Show in Governor and Mrs. Donald Carcieri’s 2009 “Scenes of Rhode Island” contest. Her watercolor painting entitled “Leave Your Troubles Behind” has been reproduced as a limited edition poster numbered and signed by the artist and by the Governor. The original will hang in the State House during the Carcieri administration. This same painting is also featured on the cover of the Rhode Island fiscal year 2010 budget and executive summary. Tricia Marcaccio exhibited in an invitational show in September 2008 for selected members of the R.I. Watercolor Society at the Portsmouth Arts Guild and has limited edition prints of her watercolor “After the Storm” on exhibit at Arnold Art Gallery in Newport. She also exhibited her watercolor “Gloucester Morning” in the invitational exhibit in September 2008 for selected members of the R.I. Watercolor Society. Trish’s watercolor “Aquatic Symphony” was accepted into the 15th Annual National Watermedia Competition held at the R.I. Watercolor Society in October 2008. Ken MacDonald’s “Made in USA” was accepted into the 2009 annual Newport Art Museum Exhibit which ran through May 25, 2009. Other recent awards are 3rd place for “Controlled Flight” in 2009 WAA member’s show, Honorable Mention for “Eraser Chair” at the Spring Bull Gallery Fake & Forgery show, and the Carl & Jayne Lynge Sculpture award at the 108th annual New Haven Paint & Clay Club exhibit. Norah Pfeiffer has work at the following galleries: Newport Art Museum, Krause Gallery, Spring Bull Gallery and Second Stage Studio. M. A. Podolak’s painting “Outside In” received the first place award in the Artists Guild Members Show at the Newport Art Museum. She also had paintings juried into the Mystic Arts Center “Revealing Interiors” show, and the Artists Cooperative Gallery Of Westerly “Regional Art Exhibit.” Albert Scartabello is exhibiting his artwork at Java Madness from June 6 - 27. Java Madness is located on Salt Pond Road in Wakefield. Ann Marie Scartabello had an Opening Reception on Saturday May 23rd at the Hairspray Salon, 259 Wickenden Street, Providence R.I. Beverly Silva received honorable mention for her watercolor collage “House of Escher” in the Art League of Rhode Island annual associate members’ show, on exhibit April 1 through May 1, at Gallery 297 in Bristol. Frances Topping has artwork and some sketch books on display at the North Kingstown Free Library on Boone Street for June and will be doing a tree ID workshop at the library on June 27. Frances also has artwork in Mystic Scrimshanders. Eric Wertheimer’s “Evolution” an exhibit of photography appeared at Java Madness, Salt Pond Road, Wakefield, RI, April 18 through May 7, 2009. Charlotte Wharton, CM, is in the process of planning her 2009-10 artist workshop and demonstration schedule. Charlotte is available for 1-5 day workshops (see www.charlottewhartonstudio.com/Workshops/workshopsamples.htm for samples); 3 hour landscape or portrait demonstrations and lecture; art critiques; and judging art shows. Reiko Wimbush, Mimi Sammis, Alberto Gambarini, Barbara Pagh and Joya Maxwell, will be showing their latest oil paintings in a “Celebration of Law Day” art exhibit at the McGrath Judiciary Complex (Behind the Dept of Motor Vehicles on Rt 1 in Wakefield). May 1 – Aug 12, 2009. These same five artists will have another exhibition at the Kent County Courthouse in Warwick (across from the Christmas Tree shop). Sept 12 - Dec 19, 2009. |
