March is Youth Art Month and in celebration, The Wickford Art Association (WAA) will present its annual Scholarship Program awards to three Rhode Island public high school senior art students with a fourth award presented by the Rhode Island Art Educators Association. The awards ceremony is on Friday March 16, 2018 at 6:30 pm at the Wickford Art Association, 36 Beach Street, North Kingstown, RI.
In addition to the cash awards, the four college-bound winners will receive a one year membership to WAA, his or her own public fine art exhibit at the Wickford Art Association from March 9 to March 16, 2018 and an invitation to exhibit at the 56th Wickford Art Festival on July 7 and 8, 2018, ranked the #5 fine art festival in the country.
The exhibit, awards ceremony and festival are free and open to the public, with handicap parking available.
Each Rhode Island public high school chooses one college-bound senior art student for consideration and the competition uses National Scholastic Standards overseen by the Rhode Island Art Educators Association. The four winning students will receive cash scholarships in the amounts of $2,500, $1,500, $1,000 and $500 to use towards college.
