those who have been accepted into an art college.

2016 Wickford Art Association Scholarship Competition Winners:

First Place:
Kyle Palma ($2500)
South Kingstown High School
Second Place:
Hope Terran ($1500)
Chariho High School

Third Place:
Stephannie Cames ($1000)
Lincoln High School
President's Award:
Sydney Darrow ($500.00 from RIAEA) Tiverton High School

On Friday evening, April 1, 2016, the Wickford Art Association, in cooperation with the Rhode Island Art Education Association, presented scholarships to four high school seniors in its annual statewide competition.  The winners are Kyle Palma, South Kingstown High School, First Prize, $2,500; Hope Terran, Chariho High School, Second Prize, $1,500; Stephannie Cames, Lincoln High School, Third Prize, $1,000. and Sydney Darrow, Tiverton High School, Director's Award, $500.  The students' artworks were judged by Peter Geisser, Regional Vice President of the National Association of Art Education Association.

On hand to make the award presentations were Mia Thompson, WAA Scholarship Chair;  Sarah Hale Folger, Executive Director of the Wickford Art Associaiton; Alexandrea Johnson, Wickford Art Festival Director; Rhode Island State Senator James Sheehan, and US Congressman James Langevin.
