With 200 talented artists, the Wickford Art Festival turned out to be a beautiful visual experience for everyone who attended. Even a brief cooling downpour on Saturday did not detour the large crowds that came in masses on both Saturday and Sunday for the 48th annual Wickford Art Festival.Many paintings, sculptures and other fine art pieces have found new homes and will continue to make their new owners happy for many years to come. My heartfelt thanks to the special people who volunteered to handle the multiple tasks required in making this year’s festival successful. Bruce Martin, Lillian Dilluvio, Helen Patience, Audrey Maloney , Sue Kresinski, John Pitocco, Marianne Guarnieri, and Sandi King who were an enormous help throughout the year and at the festival. Thanks to the wonderful people who helped with the sidewalk markings in the extreme heat, Judy Johnson, Sharon Alemany, Janet Tobin, Su Wade, Carole Stone, Bruce Luscome, Tim Murphy, Mary Anne Chagnon, Jean Andrews, Sandi King, Audrey Maloney and Sue Kresinski, Thank you to Ken MacDonald, Bill Johnson, Bryan Merhmann, and Dave Peterson for all their help with the manual labor involved.
